PLENARY INDULGENCE - 8-12-23 TO 2-2-24
As the church celebrates the 800th anniversary year since the first nativity scene was set by saint francis, it has announced a plenary indulgence for all who pray before a nativity scene at a Franciscan church. St. Francis of Assisi church at Assisi Apostolic Family, pudupakkam inaugurates its nativity scene from 10 December 2023. We invite all of you to use this special opportunity to obtain the Immeasurable mercy of God through the holy acts of our seraphic Father Francis. What is plenary indulgence? Even though confessed and forgiven sins will not send a person to hell, consequences (of involving in that sin) remain to be paid on earth or in purgatory. An indulgence frees the recipient from those consequences. Reception of an indulgence always springs from sincere repentance, the desire to live a holy life, reception of the sacraments of Penance and Holy Communion as soon as possible and prayer for the Holy Father. *An indulgence cannot be bought, nor can one be obtained by going through the motions
