For 12 years, you served faithfully as a cardinal.
And for over 12 years, you bore the Cross of Christ as His Vicar on Earth—guiding the Church with the heart of a shepherd and the spirit of St. Francis.
You led not with power, but with mercy.
Not with pride, but with prayer.
In your words, your silence, your actions—you showed us the face of Christ.
We thank the Lord for the gift of your life,
for blessing the world with your voice, your vision, and your soul rooted in love.
Now, as you enter the eternal embrace of the One you served so faithfully,
we pray that the Lord may hear your prayers in His presence—
for the Mother Church and for every soul entrusted to your care.
